Since 1945 there have been a number of historical developments that have shaped the world today. To understand the world today we will examine the last 60 years.
The course will be divided into an introduction and 6 units. Each unit will represent a decade, beginning with the 1940’s and ending with the 90’s. We will be examining each unit from four perspectives, social, political, technology, and economic. We will study the impact they have on each other and history.

Evaluation

Tests- 20%
Assignments- 35%

There will be a large number of assignments throughout the semester. You will be given the opportunity to hand in rough drafts, email me your assignments, and your lowest assignment grade may be dropped.
Grammar and spelling are your responsibility.  You may e-mail your assignments. They will be considered on time, as long as I receive them before midnight of the due date.  HOWEVER, bring in the paper copy for the class following your sending of it.  A paper is only worth 50% if it is handed in after the others have been corrected and given back.
