This year we will be doing the following Phys Ed units. Units will vary in length and may be consecutive or spread out through the year. Other activities may also be included. Some grade levels and classes may not cover all of the material listed. Common Sports and Games: Badminton, Basketball, Flag and Touch Football, Floor Hockey, International Games, Lacrosse, Ringette, Soccer, Volleyball Active Living: Fitness, Stretching, Skipping, Yoga Alternate Environments: Outdoor games, Playground games, Orienteering (map and compass) Basic Movement, Dance and Gymnastics: Walking, running, sliding, hopping, shapes, levels, speeds, leading, following, mirroring, traveling in space, tumbling, balance, jumping and landing, falling, climbing, routines/movement sequences Skill Development: Throwing, catching, kicking, striking with racquets/sticks/bats, dribbling with hands and feet |
