General Description: The Single Parent Center is a service of

The Home of Guardian Angel. The Home

of the Guardian Angel is founded on a

tradition of caring. Its mission is to nurture

and enhance the quality of life of parents

and children, with special focus on single

parent families, birth families, and adoptive

families. The Single Parent Center was

founded in 1980 to provide support for

single parents who may feel isolated or

alone and for prenatal, parenting, self-help,

and other learning experiences.

Services Offered: Services offered include: counseling,

prenatal education, support to newborns

and their moms, breastfeeding support and

clinic, baby massage, cooking, dads and

their children, Doula Project, and various

parenting programs (Nobody's Perfect, self-

esteem, care of self, discipline, playing,

one-on-one)

Procedure: Phone ahead, walk-in, or referral. Staff

assess needs identified and offer

appropriate program, service, or support

options.
