Welcome to Grade Primary. My name is Gail Stevens. I have been teaching at Astral Drive Elementary School for thirteen years, eight years teaching Grade One. This is my ninth year teaching Grade Primary. I was an elementary core French teacher prior to coming to Astral. I have been teaching for 31 years. Before I started teaching with the Halifax Regional School Board in 1981, I taught in Burnt Islands, Newfoundland for two years which was quite an experience. I am from Sydney. I have a 21 year old daughter, Tracy, who is at NSCC. We are both great Moosehead hockey fans. It is really a rewarding experience watching your children grow both socially and academically. There are all those firsts, reading that first book, losing that first tooth, writing that first sentence etc. Feel free to drop into the classroom for a visit.
