The Imo and Mont Blanc collided. When the Mont Blanc hit the Imo, the crew jumped off the boat and swam to the Dartmouth side. They met a lady and tried to get her to safety.  But they were French so she didn't understand them, so they took her baby and she ran after them just as the explosion happened.
