Battle of the Books is a reading competition sponsored by Woozles Book Store. Each spring Woozles releases a list of books for the 'battles' that will take place the following January through April.
The Teen list includes 55 titles. The team of 4 students are expected to read all the titles, memorize the authors, and be able to answer progressively more obscure questions on the books. The team meets teams from other schools at Woozles. Alternates assist in coaching the team.
Students enjoy reading a selection of books that might not otherwise come to their attention. There is also time to discuss books.
Cornwallis Junior High has a tradition of fielding a team for Battle of the Books each year.
Our first round battle dates are February 20 and 27, 2008.
