I have been a school librarian since before
any of you were born. Since 1989.
Before that I worked in a university library, as a book-keeper for an interior design company and I spent one summer performing as a dancing tree with the provincial department of tourism and recreation.
I attended Duke University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History.
I have 4 children, 3 boys and a girl. My daughter recently graduated from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and drew one of the posters in the library.
My favorite things to do include: swimming and kayaking at my cottage on the Northumberland Strait, traveling and reading.
My favorite books to read include: fantasy/ science fiction particularly alternate futures or dystopias, historical fiction and what I call novels.
Some of the best books I read this year were:
The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak
Droughtlanders by Carrie Mac
Number9dream by David Mitchell
Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer
Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
