The Halifax Public Library has many links to excellent reference sites available on line. Your library card number [found on the back of the card] may be required for access to some sites. From the main website access the ‘Information Desk’ button. From there, select ‘Databases’ and scroll down to find World Book On-line and other resources.

EBSCO
EBSCO is an on-line magazine index and subscription service subscribed to and paid for by the N.S. Department of Education for the use of all students. To access this service from home you may need the school password, available from the office.
Once you have reached the EBSCO site, select one of the research options. ‘Student Research Center” is an appropriate choice for our students.
When entering your search phrase, remember, if your first choice of phrase doesn’t produce results think about it another way. ‘Nurses World War 1939-45’ may not produce results but ‘combat nurses’ may.
