In Primary, the main goal of homework is to show-off to the adults, and practice what has already been learned at school. It is important that homework be a positive time of interaction between learner and adult. If your child is having any difficulty with the tasks sent home, please contact me so we can make the appropriate adjustments.
Homework is exchanged weekly, and typically, entails reading with a response page and either a bag of math activities, or a poem or two. Sometimes you may see some printing practice, letter or number recognition activities or alternative writing/drawing tasks.
If homework is stressful, or difficult to complete, please do not make an issue about it with your child. It is not actually a part of the primary curriculum, but does foster good work practices and sets the routines for future homework obligations.
