Independent Living Resource Center - provides information on support services
for individuals with disabilities.
Teamwork Cooperative- supports Persons with disabilities by providing viable
options to community employment, including STP programs, the Opportunity Fund
and an intake and referral service.
The Work Bridge Association- provides a wide range of employment facilitation
and/or job development services employment support for people with disabilities.
Canadian Mental Health Association- provides health information, advocacy,
public policy review, program development, mental health resource center.
Learning Disabilities Association of Nova Scotia- LDANS is a non-profit
association offering advocacy, support, and referral services to children,
parents, professionals and others dealing with learning disabilities.
Canadian National Institute for the Blind- provides rehabilitation services to
people experiencing vision loss, counseling, daily living skills, travel
techniques using the white cane, library service on tape or braille.
Nova Scotia Community College- NSCC is committed to providing students with
disabilities reasonable, equitable, and safe accessibility to programs and
services offered by the College.
Legal Information Society of Nova Scotia- provides legal, information and lawyer
referrals. Information on guardianship and wills is included.
Halifax Association for Community Living- The Halifax Association for Community
Living (HACL) is a volunteer run, not-for-profit organization seeking to ensure
that persons challenged with an intellectual disability take their place in the
community.
ReachAbility- provides legal, education and employment services for people with
disabilities in Nova Scotia.
People First of Canada-
People First of Canada is the national voice for people who have been labelled
with an intellectual disability. We are about rights – human rights, citizenship
rights, accommodations rights and language rights. The right to freedom, choice
and equality for all.
