



Nathan Beeler CD, BME, MMus
Nathan Beeler has been a teacher, conductor and performer in Nova Scotia for 20 years. Presently the instrumental music teacher and director of music at Charles P. Allen High School, Nathan has conducted some of the finest high school musicians in the province. Nathan holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Acadia University, and a Masters of Music from the University of Manitoba, where he studied conducting with Mr. Earl Stafford, music director of Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet.
As a music teacher Nathan has served on the pilot committees for the province’s Music 10, 11 and Advanced Music Courses, as well as overseen the commissioning of two new works for wind band. He has served on the committee for the Nova Scotia Junior Wind Ensemble and also served as that ensemble’s conductor. Nathan is in demand as a clinician and guest conductor throughout the province.
In 2011 Nathan was awarded the Prime Minister's Award for Teaching excellence. This award allowed him to travel to Ottawa for a week in October of 2011 and meet with 18 other teachers from across Canada to discuss teaching practices and techniques. Nathan will forever be humbled and grateful for this honour.
Nathan was, until recently the conductor of the highly acclaimed Scotia Brass, an brass ensemble composed of some of Nova Scotia's finest brass musicians. He is a member of "The Message", a contemporary Christian band that tours frequently throughout the Maritimes, and recently, Bermuda.
As a performer Nathan has performed with the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra, Members of Symphony Nova Scotia, and the Acadia University Brass Quintet. Nathan also performed as a member of the Winnipeg Symphony Chorus. An avid folk musician, Nathan performs regularly at many summer festivals throughout the Maritime
