Homework
Homework will be posted on my website weekly. Please check under each subject for any projects or activities that have been assigned. The outline for projects will be found on the subject pages.
1. a) Reading/Book Log:
Students are expected to keep track of the amount of reading they do at home in their agenda. Remember that students should be reading a minimum of 20-30 minutes, four times a week (this includes weekends). Parents are to initial the agenda after each night of reading. I do check the agendas daily and students are required to keep up-to-date with their reading.
b) Reading Response:
Starting later on this term, students will be required to complete a reading response once a week. This response will be based on the reading that they are doing at home.
2. Problem of the Week:
Starting on September 19th, every Monday the students will receive a new Problem of the Week which will be due on Thursday. The students will follow a step by step procedure, based on the "Three Read Strategy" in order to solve the problem. They will be marked not only on the answer but also on the process they used in order to solve the problem.
3. Incomplete Daily Work:
Students are required to finish incomplete class work at home.
4. Projects and Tests:
At times the students will have projects and tests to work on and study for at home. Please be sure to check agendas and the class calendar to ensure that you are prepared.
***Please remember that there is always a chance of additional homework being assigned. This may include project work, extra worksheets, writing activities, book reports, or studying for a test.
