Talc is one of the softest minerals and on the hardness scale it is a 1, which means that it can be easily scratched by your fingernail. Its color can be pale to dark green, gray, brownish or white. Talc leaves a white streak and feels greasy to the touch. It is ground up and used to make talcum powder.
