Hello, Also, I just wanted to let you know, that after 2 years (and then some) I can finally say - I am SO glad I did IB. I listened to my roommate (who did not do IB) have a breakdown to her mother last night because she was already feeling "swamped" with work, while the rest of us are pretty much bored out of our minds. Direct quote (in between sniffles): "Everyone else here did IB, and they aren't stressed at alllllll" (!!!) Feel free to pass this news along to any grade 11's or 12's feeling the slightest bit of doubt over their decision: it WILL pay off in the finest of ways- they just have to wait :) from a 2009 graduate My Chemistry HL mark ended up being a 4, but my first year chemistry mark at university is an A- from a 2009 grad at Acadia
It is a wonderful opportunity for students at
Citadel to have the option of taking IB. Like many things in life there is no
gain without pain. IB is a challenging program which enables students to test
not only their intellectual ability but also their inner drive to persevere in
a program offered to other students throughout the world. The pressure is on
this time of year but it will also be on this time of year in university.
Perseverance pays off in IB, will pay off in University and will pay off in
life. Parents, support and encourage your children as they will no doubt
second or third guess their decision to take IB. The IB program at Citadel is
offered by some of the most dedicated and committed teachers your
children will ever encounter. The stress and strain of the extended essay,
the world literature paper and the historical investigation will be a faint
memory on Graduation Day. Completing the IB program will empower your child.

[IB provides a ]... shared new experience for most that provides them with the necessary tools and work ethic that WILL prepare them for first year university (as measured by first midterm results). from a parent of a 2009 graduate midway through semester 1 at Mt. A
If I knew how much IB was going to help me in university, I would have tried even harder in grade 12... from a 2009 graduate in first year sciences at DAL with an A average Yes, the IB diploma was totally worth it and I would do it again.... from a second year DAL student who captained our Provincial Championship basketball team and who stars for the DAL Tigers. In truth (if you will forgive the metaphor) we are keenly aware of the fact that [our son], while a wonderful 'seed' was able to flourish as a student because of the immensely fertile soil we were able to place him in. [He], an exemplary person, has become an exemplary student because of the rich environment you and your colleagues have created through introduction of the IB program and the high standards Citadel High School has set for these young adults. ... from a parent of a 2011 IB graduate
