1.  OPENING

The meeting opened at 7:08 p.m. and was chaired by Donna Duggan.

 

 

2.     INTRODUCTIONS   

All members were introduced.

 

 

3.     APPROVAL OF MINUTES – June 18th, 2009.

4.  FINANCIAL REPORT

a.     The treasurer, Donna Duggan, reported the following financial
information:

      Shares         $  360.37

      Plan 24       $   20.23

      Checking     $   10.00

      Equity         $  4962.90

 

 

b.     Membership fees were collected.  Please send you Fees to Donna Duggan at Halifax West. $300 for major sport schools. Make checks out to Metro High School Athletic Association.  

 

     Receipts will be issued at the next meeting.

 

 

5. CORRESPONDENCE

·        A discussion took place about schools being able to play up a division for the metro regular season schedule and play their original division for playoffs.

 

Metro proposed two new motions to take back to school principals:

     Motion #1

 

Teams may play up a division for the metro league season and declare the lower division in playoffs.

For all metro leagues, schools can only have one team per league, per gender; unless another league option is not available for a second team.

·        A discussion took place on how to control students moving from school to school (transfer rule).  Schools can send this to the Regional Director for fall workshop.

 

 

6. BUSINESS ARISING FROM MINUTES

Baseball, Cheerleading and Snowboarding are still looking for coordinators.  More information to follow via e-mail.

 

 

 

7.  REGIONAL DIRECTOR’S REPORT:  

     Trevor Doyle gave a verbal report.

 

Items for the Fall Workshop were mentioned and schools must have it into him by Friday September 10th

 

Capital will be hosting the Badminton, Baseball, Rugby (boys/girls), Soccer (D1 Boys, D3, and JV Boys), Fast Pitch (boys/girls), D1 Girls Volleyball and Wrestling.

 

Boys and girls soccer has a change in the way the coordinators are accumulating cards:  Cards will be wiped out after district play.  More info will be sent out via e-mail.

 

Coordinators of sports must keep District coordinator up to date on any play off changes or formats that effect regional representation.

a. Boy’s Soccer: Halifax West: Roy Snook

Roy Snook gave a verbal Report on Boys and Girls Soccer

 

The schedule is under way and please gets checks into him.  Coaches are required to make all the required changes if changing a game on the schedule, including referees and field bookings.

 

b. Boys B Soccer: Armbrae: Susan Beazley

Sue Beazley gave a verbal report.

 

Can all schools who are having a B team contact Sue.

Trevor Doyle gave a verbal report on both Boys and Girls Volleyball.  There will be a coaches meeting Monday Sept 13, 7pm at CPA.

 

f. Girl’s Volleyball: CPA Dave Hubley:

Dave Hubley gave a verbal report on Girls Volleyball.
