3) Do the same for the other three clips. Note that footage from clips one and five will need to be deleted. Highlight each one and then press the delete key.
4) Splitting - Drag one more clip from the album into the movie window. This time I want you to switch the movie window to the timeline view (click the middle button above the right corner of the movie window). You should see a linear representation of all your clips. Select the last one and move the pointer (line) to the exact middle of this clip. Click on the razor button to split this clip in half. You now know how to split clips without trimming in the "Edit Clip" mode.

6) Volume Control - In the timeline view select the first clip (originally clip two because clip one had to be deleted). In the toolbox menu select change volume. A window appears with three tuning knobs (original video soundtrack, sound effects, and music). Turn the soundtrack volume to the left or right and then close the window and hit the space bar. You should notice an immediate change in volume. Notice the blue solid line in the timeline underneath your clip, this is a visual representation of the clip's volume. You can also adjust the volume hear using the visual wave forms as a guide. Cut out all voices from people in all five of your clips. Pinnacle will automatically change the volumes of all clips to the right of the selected clip. Click on the second clip and re-adjust the volume of succeeding clips to the middle setting. The first clip should now have a different volume from the rest. Press space bar to check your work. Save your project.

Select Generate Background Music from your toolbox and preview a few styles before selecting. When you're happy with a song click on add to movie. Notice where the sound track appears in the timeline. Studio 8 is a linear editing program and works similar to a timeline of events that can be superimposed over each other if desired.
