Dance On Film

Quiet on the set...and ACTION!

Please select a film [DVD/VHS] that features some form of dance (see link below for a sample list).  After screening key scenes and selecting the piece you would like work on, sign up for a date to show the film clip [of no less than one minute in length] and perform and teach a piece of choreography from the film to the class.  You will have up to 35 minutes to accomplish your goal of teaching this short piece of established choreography.

Related outcomes:

1.      respond with critical awareness and sensitivity to their own dance work and the work of others

2.      address problems and make decisions relating to their dance work

On your day to present, please bring in a playable copy of your film on a DVD or VHS tape.  Plan to come to class ahead of time to allow for set-up.  If you can, wear something similar to what the characters in the film clip are wearing.  You will be graded on your presentation skills, rhythmic accuracy, technique, dynamics, control and confidence.  Find your piece and practice, practice, practice!
