Dear Parents,
Wow! The time just keeps rolling along! Here it is almost the end of May. The grade 4s have finished their unit on" Les Clowns" and have now begun their final unit for the year, "Une Ile Tropicale". They will be learning all about what it is like to be on a tropical island, with weather and the various terrains plus the animals which live on the islands. It should be very interesting to see what original ideas come from creating their own tropical paradise. They also continue to practise their French sounds and their numbers up to 69. The grade 5s and 6s continue to practise their numbers 0-1000. The students have now begun a new unit about a famous piglet named Alphonse. The students will be learning how to describe what a person looks like, what clothing he/she might be wearing and their personality as well. Their descriptions must be accurate as it could spell disaster for Alphonse! Stay tuned! Encourage your child(ren) to continue practising each day what they learn in class as this will give them more confidence when speaking in French in class. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me by phone (864-7510) or e-mail me at lydiakar@staff.ednet.ns.ca . Only five weeks remain and the end of June will be here before you know it! Madame K. Lydiard
