On Physical Education days, students are expected to wear appropriate gym attire.  This includes indoor sneakers to be left at school, a t-shirt and shorts or gym pants.  Lower elementary students should come to school dressed for Physical Education to eliminate the need for changing, which can be very time consuming and disruptive.

All students are expected to participate in all class activities to the best of their ability.  If there is a medical reason that your child should not participate, please forward me a note.

STUDENT ASSESSMENT

Assessment of student learning is ongoing as students participate within Physical Education classes.  Assessment is based upon student achievement of Nova Scotia Department of Education Physical Education outcomes.  These outcomes can be found on the DOE website.

Parents/Guardians who have specific questions pertaining to their child's achievement of the outcomes or the outcomes themselves may feel free to contact me at any time.

HELPING YOUR CHILD TO SUCCEED

As with any subject area, students often require repetitive attempts to master the skills and strategies taught in the Phys. Ed program. Parents are encouraged to provide balls, skipping ropes, sticks, etc. for their children to practice the new skills they're learning in school.  Not only will they improve their skills, but it will help to promote a more physically active lifestyle.  Join them and get a workout yourself!
