Living Things
Living
things are sorted into five groups. Just like humans all living things share
certain characteristics. Living things within certain groups share particular
characteristics. There are seven levels of classification. The organisms in each
group share some characteristics. For example in one of the groups that humans
belong to all of the organisms in it are mammals.

Notice that the order that the bear belongs to is Carnivora. The word carnivore comes from this word and it means flesh eater.

from a large group down to a single individual. Describe the changes that occur
as you move through the classification process.

Bacteria are an example of the simplest group of living things because they are
single celled organisms. Each cell is a living individual. Click
