Students are now actively involved in a year-long economy unit in which they earn credits and debits.

Earning...

Throughout each week, students can earn credits for any number of things. For example, students who hold classroom jobs each week earn credits on a daily or weekly basis according to our agreed upon payroll. Credits are also earned for monthly perfect attendance (No lates!), having a clean and tidy desk, having their agenda signed nightly, being a Top Reader, and having all homework completed and handed in on time.  Debits are also given to students for certain things, such as forgetting their date on their work, not following class rules, needing a nutritious recess snack, and  having a scary desk.

Another special way for the students to earn Caseley Cash is through the Family Challenges.

Saving...

Students can save up for things such as a class movie, lunch with the teacher, indoor recess or with a friend, extra time on the computer, and more!  They can also save for higher priced items available in our class store.

Responsibility...

From this system, students learn responsibility lessons.  They learn to keep track of their money, and not to lose it.  They learn how to save up for things that are important to them instead of spending everything at once.  They also learn the value of earning money instead of just being given things for free.  They take more pride in their work, their behavior, and in taking responsibility for their actions.
