*Students will  combine all the knowledge gained in constructing final mask.

*Students will have to make a presentation on the art work and be able to talk about the decisions they made through the disciplines

*Learn technical skills involved in all areas.

*They will learn that every decision they make reflects themselves as artist.

 *understand the colour wheel.

Projected timeline for preparation and for carrying out activities

* colour wheel 1 class,*Develop ideas through drawing and research 2 classes,*Demonstration to students with different materials 1 class,*3 classes for students to work on  mask foundation and then another 2 classes to work with found objects and   back into  final artefact

Equipment Requirements: (computers, software, etc)

Pencils, paints  ,brushes ,computers/books ,plaster  paris and found objects.

colour study ,research work ,investigative drawing and final artefact.

Teaching materials provided (Blacklines, worksheets, templates, teacher materials)

colour wheel,  examples of  different drawing techniques, examples of artists work ,examples of native art ,previous work of  students, Get students to brainstorm

Resources available for teacher/student use (websites, references, etc)

Colour wheel - firstly class room management is important students must know how to tidy up the materials used ie.paint ,plaster etc.

Give a quick demonstration of how to mix the paint and to clean the brushes.

Tell students to keep investigative drawings tidy and informative.

Get students to bring in found objects and not objects which are dangerous to other students.

Make sure you go through safety issues especially with the plaster paris

.

Student products expected

creative response

awareness of decisions made

Samples (include teacher notes, assessment information, student work if available)

Assessment- Grade student response in all disciplines towards final product.

Did the student explore a lot of avenues before final design

Student  should be aware of  all the decisions they make and how it reflects there art.

Does the final product reflect the goal of the artist

Logistics (organization, grouping, management issues, access to technology)

make all students accountable for there work space.
