Overview of unit/lessons/activities (assumptions of prior knowledge/learning)

This project concentrates on four groups: the non-living Viruses and the three lower kingdoms of living things – the Monerans (Bacteria/Blue-green algae), Protista and Fungi.  Most of these groups exhibit both harmful and helpful representatives.

Projected timeline for preparation and for carrying out activities

Assign the project and allow 1 and a half to 2 weeks of independent research.

Equipment Requirements: (computers, software, etc)

Computers with access to the internet.  Access to Ebsco.  Students will email their articles and summaries to the teacher.  Two copies of the crossword will be handed in. One blank, the other filled in with the correct answers.
