Students will participate in the 10 week DARE program which is taught by our school Liason RCMP officer.

Students will be discussing and participating in activities surrounding self-esteem. A unit project will mostly completed in class. There is a section where students have to write 2 letters to different people in their lives so they may receive a response. Letters should be sent early in order for people to respond before the project is due. The Project was assigned Sept. 21st and no due date has been set yet.Please note that some of the work will be sent home to complete closer to the due date.

February-March
We have been discussing sports and the risks associated with them. Grade six students are required to learn about sports injuries and ways to prevent them. Students are completing an in-class project where they design a brochure outline ways to prevent injuries in their chosen sport. Below is the outline and rubric for the project.
Sports Injury Brochure
We have reviewed different brochures and their function in class. We have had discussions about injuries which can occur in sports as well as ways to prevent injuries. You will use information from your notes to create a brochure which explains to people how to prevent injuries. Be sure to include the 5 ways we have talked about in class. Be Neat and creative. Decorate to make your brochure appealing!
