Every Monday your child will take home a homework bag

Three Books: Students are asked to chose three "just right" books. Just right books usually have a 2-3 words that are hard. If there is more, the book is too hard, if less, it is too easy. Please let me know if you think your child needs help picking out books. Please read each book with your child. Reading the books more than once helps students with fluency. (Fluency: Making the story sound like talking and reading with expression). Students will record what they read, how many times they read it and how it sounded in a reading log. Students may be asked to do a  reading response to one of their books. These need to be at least 1/2 a page and have a picture.

**Please return your homework bag on Thursday** This allows me time to fill them back up with the following weeks homework.

Remember...Homework should be an enjoyable time with your son/daughter. They should only be spending 20 minutes a night on homework. If at any time you feel that the homework is too much or too little, please feel free to contact me and I will adapt it for your child.
