Welcome to our Phobos page!
Phobos is Mars` biggest moon. It's diameter is 22.2 Kilometers. It's mass is 1.08e16. It's orbit is 9378 kilometers from the center of Mars. The moon was discovered in 1877 by Hall. It was named Phobos in 1988 after lots of names. The names were Hall, Mariner, Viking and then Phobos. "Phobos" is Greek for Fear.
Phobos is doomed because its altitude is lower than usual. So, in about 50 000 000 years Phobos will crash into the face of the planet Mars, or, most likely break up into a ring and surround Mars.
