For students who are looking for a really useful guide for the playwriting process, check out The Young Playwrights Page. This site contains step-by-step suggestions for creating a quality piece for the stage.
For students who are looking for scriptwriting templates to use in MS Word, the BBC has a series of Script Smart templates in their Writersroom. The UK edition of Script Smart Gold has a macro for a STAGE script layout that allows you to create a style similar to Eastern Front Theatre's Format #1. The US edition has a macro that creates a style similar to Format #2. They might take a bit of getting used to, but they seem to work well.
