Be-a-Household-Appliance Group Pantomime - This was an in-class group assignment performed on October 6. Click here for the scene idea sheet, which is to be handed in (one per group) as Journal 4.

Faces Project - Due on October 27

Monologue - Due between October 28-30. The Monologue Idea Sheet is due on Monday, October 27 (to be handed in as a Journal mark). The Character Concept Sheet and a copy of your script is to be handed in on the day you perform your monologue (to be handed in as a Journal mark).

November

Mirror Mime Assignment - This was an in-class partner assignment performed on November 6. Click here for the evaluation rubric.

Join In Activity - This was an in-class group assignment performed on November 7 .

Mimed Emotion Scene - This was an in-class solo or partner assignment performed on November 14. Click here for the evaluation rubric.

Short Mimed Task - This was an in-class assignment (solo or with a partner) prepared on November 17 and performed on November 18.

Personal Story Telling - This was an in-class assignment performed on November 19. Tell a story that is true, about you and audience appropriate.

Fairytale Half-Life Activity- This was an in-class assignment performed on November 21. In a small group prepare and perform a fairytale. The same story must then be performed in one half the time.

Five Elements Game - This was an in-class assignment performed on November 25. Each group had to create a scene that clearly demonstrated each of the five elements of scene structure.

“Oh, Why, Sorry” Activity – This was an in-class assignment prepared on November 26 and performed on November 27. In small groups create a short scene using “oh, why, sorry” as the only dialogue and perform these in front of the class. Click here for the evaluation rubric.

December

Short Scripted Scenes – This was an in-class assignment prepared from December 1 - 3 and performed on December 4.  Click here to view the evaluation rubric for each scene.

In small groups, develop two short scenes that incorporate the Five Elements. As this project will take three days to complete, the expectation is that it will be performed as a well-practiced, directed scene with all lines and blocking memorized. Please refer to the Stage Basics handout for more information. Each group must also hand in a Short Scenes Worksheet for both of their prepared scenes (Journal 10)

Students must hand in their script with blocking notes for the scenes they perform / direct (Journal 11)
