How to Prepare a Bibliography

Book with one author:

Last name, First name. The Title Underlined. Place of Publication: Publisher, Copyright date.
 

Encyclopedia article:

Last name, First name (if given). "Title of article," Name of Enc. Underlined. Year, Vol. #, page numbers.
 

Magazine/Newspaper article:

Last name, First name (if given). "Title of article in quotes." Name of mag. underlined. Date, page numbers.

CD-ROM:

Last name, First name (if given). "Title of article in quotes." Name of CD-ROM Underlined. CD-ROM. Place of Publication: Publisher, Copyright date.

World Wide Web site:

Last name, First name (if given). "Title of item in quotes." Date of Posting (if given). Title of Web Site as found on Home Page. <Location> (URL). Date of Access.

Electronic Mail (E-Mail):

Last name, First name (if given). "Subject Line from Posting." Address. Recipient. Date of Posting.
 


Steps to Creating Your Own Bibliography

1) As you use each source, write down its bibliographic information (don't wait and do it later).

2) When you are ready to write your bibliography, gather all the bibliographic entries together and write them down
    in alphabetical order. See example below:
