Resources and Technology
Search the collection of videos held at the LRT library. Search by
author, title, keyword, or curriculum term. Most videos can be
borrowed and a few are only available for purchase.

HRSB Teachers' Centres Search all three
teachers' centres (Halifax, Dartmouth and French) from one search
site. Or check out their
home page for more information on borrowing from the centres.
- Aliant Learning Centre The Aliant Learning Centre (ALC) offers Teachers
free access to over 3000 educational based video titles
that will assist in enriching the learning experience of school aged
children in Atlantic Canada from their own classroom. All ALC videos
are directly correlated to the Public Grade School curriculums in
each Atlantic Canada province. Also, to accommodate ease of
reference to individual provincial curriculums, all titles can be
directly searched by province, grade, and subject matter with the
ALC online search tool.
- Teachers can tape and show programs from the following sites,
under the Cable in the Classroom program.
CHUM Media,
A&E,
CPAC, and the
Discovery channels.
- Teachers can access video and radio clips on a variety of
topics at the
CBC Archives.

Halifax Public Libraries
Search the HPL collection for videos to show in class. They must
indicate PPR included or be found on the Audio Cine site.

ImagesProject
Need a photo to use in a school project? All images on this website
are free to students and teachers for downloading, using and
modifying. Have original images of a curricular nature, consider
sharing them with other educators and students by submitting them to
the project.
