Math 11 Essentials Course Outline - Spring 2009
Mathematics Essentials 11 offers students an increased opportunity for success by providing them with more hands-on experiences, real-world applications to mathematics, and skill-building activities. The course will prepare students for the workplace or for educational programs after high school that do not require a mathematics prerequisite.

Materials Needed:
A three-ring binder with lots of lined paper
Ruler, pencils and an eraser
Scientific calculator (a graphing calculator will be provided when required)
Attendance: Regular attendance is essential. Come on time and prepared. If you are absent, have a parent/guardian write a note or call the main office (497-4612). Students who miss class or arrive late are reminded of the J. L. Ilsley attendance and late policies. It is your responsibility to keep track of any missed work due to absence.
Evaluation: Each of the 5 units will be worth 20% of the overall course mark. Each unit will consist of some chapter activities (assignments, projects and your portfolio) and the unit test.
