Stay with you
These
streets
Turn me inside out
Everything shines
But leaves me empty still
And I'll, burn this lonely house down
If you run with me
If you run with me
I'll stay with you
The walls will fall before we do
Take my hand now
We'll run forever
I can feel the storm inside you
I'll stay with you
Fooled by my own desires
I twist my fate
Just to feel you
But you, turn me toward the light
And you're one with me
Will you run with me?
I'll stay with you
The walls will fall before we do
Take my hand now
We'll run forever
I can feel the storm inside you
I'll stay with you
Now come in from this storm
I taste you sweet and warm
Take what you need
Take what you need
From me
Wake up this world
Wake up tonight
And run with me
Run to me now
I'll stay with you
The walls will fall before we do
Take my hand now
We'll run forever
I can feel the storm inside you
I'll stay with you

streets turn me inside out
Personification and Idiom |
- The streets can’t really turn someone inside out so this is personification. This is also an idiom because it doesn’t really make sense but we understand that it’s not literal. It means that he’s having a hard time being in a certain place. |

Hyperbole |
This is an extreme exaduration because they are not going to run forever. |
These lyrics are talking about how the guy will stay with the one he loves through everything. It sounds like they are both having a hard time and they want to get away because he says “ These streets turn me inside out”, “everything shines but leaves me empty still” and “I can feel the storm inside you”. But they need each other and will stay and, help, follow and love each other through what they’re going through because he says “the walls will fall before we do”, “ But you, turn me toward the light”, “I’ll stay with you”, “I taste you sweet and warm” and “take what you need from me”.
The tone of this song is mellow and fast at the same time it's also romantic, thoughtful, and serious. Since I think that they are trying to run away because they’re having a bad time they want some space from other people, he wants them to escape together. I think the speaker is passionate and reassuring in the song that he would stay with her through everything.
The music contributes to the song because it helps you intemperate the feeling of the lyric poem. The instrumental part of the song gives it interest and helped me understand the feeling and meaning of the song. The title is very significant to the song because he is saying that he will stay with the girl forever no matter what.
I chose this song because whenever I heard it I wondered about the real meaning and wanted to look closer and I thought this a good excuse. I also picked it because I like this song and wanted to understand it better. Overall I thought this song was a good choice because there were a lot of figures of speech that I found and had fun thinking about what everything meant.
