Create a Set of Research Questions |
about the Topic |
After you have written down what you already know about the topic you want to research, it is time to move to the third step - creating a set of research questions about some of the things you want to learn about as you do your investigation. Doing this can help you narrow down your topic and focus on what type of research and resources you need. By coming up with a set of questions you also discover what you really want to know about the topic. Later, you may have to add to or change some of your questions as you continue your research. |

Here are some sample questions we used during our research of Canadian Painters: 1) Where did Emily Carr live? 2) Where was Maud Lewis' house before it was in the museum? 3) How old was Emily Carr when she started painting? 4) How old was Maud Lewis when she started painting? 5) Which paintings made Emily Carr famous? 6) Which paintings made Maud Lewis famous? |
