Choose a Topic

The first step of the research process is choosing a topic. There are several different ways to choose a topic. For example, you could have one assigned to you, most likely by a teacher. You may be asked to research the cultural traditions of the Mi'kmaq people in Social Studies or the life of a scientist in Science class. Also, you may choose a topic on your own. You could pick something that interests you and that you want to find out more about. 

When choosing a topic to do a research project, it is important to narrow down your topic. You cannot research every aspect of World War Two, just choose one sub-topic such as its major battles. To see how we got our topics click on the link below.
