Introduction

Every year we set aside a special time, in February, to recognize the accomplishments and history of people of African descent. The African American and African Canadian people have a rich heritage and culture.  We are going to learn about many of their trials, challenges and accomplishments.

The Process

Choose what or who you want to find out about.  The following links will help you to get the  information that you need.

    Learn about one individual's contribution.

    Underground Railroad Webquest

     Birchtown Archaeology

    Famous Black Americans Reference

IMPORTANT: When doing research find the information you need then make jot notes to briefly record the facts that you will use.

Once your research is complete pick a method to present that information to the class.  Using the jot notes write your report or make a poster to inform others of what you have learned.

Evaluation

You will have to do a one to two minute presentation for the class to inform them about your topic.  Be prepared to answer questions.

After your presentation pass in your report.

All of the work must be your own - you cannot print something from the internet and pass it in as your own work.
