Pioneer Unit Wrap Up
Objective:
The
purpose of this lesson is to measure the learning that has taken place over the
unit and gives students a chance to reflect on what they have learned.
Length
of Lesson: 1 Hour
GCO:
Students will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of the past and how
it affects the present and the future.
SCOs:
Demonstrate an understanding of the concepts and vocabulary associated with time, continuity and change
Identify, evaluate and use appropriate primary and secondary sources to
learn and communicate about the past
Research and describe historical events and ideas from different
perspectives
Apply historical methodology to interpret and understand time, continuity and change at an age appropriate level
Describe examples of cause and effect and change over time
Identify and compare events of the past to the present in order to make
informed, creative decisions about issues

Evaluation:
The
teacher will correct the response to the question posed based on their use of
proper writing skills and correcting the worksheets on the transportation
reading comprehension activity. The teacher will read the reflection and respond
to it.
