Grave Yard Study

This group of activities is based on the learning kit from the Nova Scotia Museum.

Graveyards provide us with a wealth of information about the past.  Each year we organize a trip to a museum in our community to study the headstones and learn more about the past in our community.

In preparation for the trip we learn about graveyards and headstones.  Why were the old graveyards built where they were?  From what are the gravestones made?  What information is recorded on the stones?
