Haiku

The topic for Haiku is usually from nature.

Bring some natural objects into your classroom. Make a display for the students to observe.
Present several examples of Haiku poetry to the students. Observe the syllable format.
Create a class haiku based on one of the objects in the display.
Give each student a form to use to format the poem. It could be a leaf shape or another shape from the natural world.
