Acknowledgements

There are many people who have helped us with this school-wide project.  Special thanks to Scott Browning, Yves Jubinville, John Stewart,   and Todd Thompson for their ongoing support of school technology projects.  Mr. Browning's assistance in setting up the framework of the website was invaluable.  It allowed the students to see the layout of the website easily and his detailed instructions were easy to follow.  Mr. Stewart's leadership in the professional development activities for the teachers in the use of Frontpage 2000, and his workshops with students were critical to the building of this website.  Mr. Thompson's support and assistance in setting up our school's computer lab made this project possible.  It would have been very difficult to build this website without the ability to gather students together in one setting.  Mr. Jubinville's dedication to maintaining our school computers, assistance in setting up hardware and installing software was essential to the project and continues to be a critical part of our technology initiatives.

Many parents supported this project by coming into the school to share their knowledge and experience with the students.  Thank you also to Terry Eyland and Elizabeth Corser for the invaluable insights about the school and community.  Their work at the Cole Harbour Heritage Farm is the foundation for much of the information we gathered about the history of the school and community.  Also, Kim Manson who is one of our parents and regular school volunteers deserves special mention for taking the time to photograph schools, landmarks and businesses throughout the community for the website.

Thank you to the teachers for their support of this program. They often had to search for information that was illusive and difficult to access.  Their leadership in guiding students in the process of collecting information and preparing it for publication is greatly appreciated.   This project was a challenging opportunity for our school and it could not have been undertaken without their support. Once again, they have risen to the occasion.

Finally, thanks to the students.  This website is the reflection of the students' collective efforts to explore their school and community.  Cooperative learning was the hallmark of their inquiry in many of the classes and was evident in the building of the website.  Special thanks to the students who took leadership roles in the building of the website.  They are: Seth, Stephen, Julie Anne, Amanda, David, Darren, Chad, Victoria, Alex , and Staci.  They put in many hours of effort outside of their regular school assignments to build this website. Many thanks to them.
