What remains a constant throughout everyone’s lives is the strong urge to create. When students come through the classroom doors I aim to teach them that with skills and focus, they can be proud competent creators. I strongly believe in teaching critical thinking skills; in grade 12 the focus on conceptual art making challenges students to expand their thinking and understand the ramifications of referencing. The program at CPA is sequential and is designed to build upon the students’ experiences and skills each year.

Digital portfolios are a final course requirement at each level.

If you are a serious art student and have maintained an average of 85% or higher, then you should consider enrolling in Advanced 11 Visual Arts, Advanced 12 Visual Arts or pursuing a certificate in IB Visual Arts.

I graduated from NSCADU with an Art Education Specialist Degree and completed my Masters in Art Education (with a focus on pop culture & critical thinking) at the University of British Columbia.
