Spring Running Club Update

The Bluenose Youth Run is fast approaching.  The event day is Saturday May 19^th with a start time of 11:00 a.m.  If you have not yet registered, please make sure to do so.  You can register online at http://bluenosemarathon.com.  Students can pick up their race kit (t-shirts) on Friday May18^th from 10:00am-8:00pm or Saturday morning from 8:00-10:00 a.m. at the World Trade and Convention Center. The run starts on Sackville Street (near Queen Street) and finishes by the town clock on Brunswick Street. The run is 4.2km long.  Parents/Guardians are welcome and encouraged to run/walk with their child. After the run there is a Post Race Celebration at the Metro Center from 11:30-1:00.   Just a reminder that Parents/Guardians are responsible for their children at this event. 

Inglis Street will be having their Jump Rope for Heart event on Monday April 23rd.  All pledge forms must be returned no later Thursday April 26th.  They will not be accepted after this date.

Thank you to the Grade 6 Inglis Students who participated in the Rockingham Volleyball Tournament.  You did a wonderful job representing our school.

Congratulations to all runners who participated in the cross-country meet  on Thursday October 6th.  You all did a great job!!!

Running Club is training for the Cross Country Meet that will take place behind Inglis Street School.  The meet will take place on Tuesday October 4th from 4:00-5:15 (rain date Thursday October 6th).  Students should be running on their own as well as the scheduled after school practices in preparation for the run.

Fairview Heights will be having their Jump Rope for Heart event on Monday April 11th (main building) and Wednesday April 13th (Annex).  All pledge forms must be returned no later Wednesday April 13th.  They will not be accepted after this date.

Badminton Intramurals will begin mid March.  Please check the Intramural schedule for the start date for your school.

Canada Games Day

Since Nova Scotia is the host province for Canada Games I thought it would be fun for both Fairview Heights and Central Spryfield to host a Canada Games day.   Each class will represent a different province or territory.  The day will consist of an opening ceremonies (parade of provinces/territories, O’Canada, Lighting of the flame), sporting activities, and Closing Ceremonies where the students will be given certificates.   Below is a chart of what province/territory your class is as well as the team color.  Please be sure to show your team spirit and dress wearing your team colour on the event day! Events will be both indoor and outdoor so please come dressed appropriately.
